Some like it hot...
I, however, am not one of them! We just finished a long and miserable heat wave. Very unusual for Northern California. It reached 110 degrees! There was just no way to cool down that lasted longer than a few minutes. I couldn't work on my dolls, which was a major irritation. Now the temps are back to normal and my creativity levels are too. I just completed this awesome Luts Soo Angel doll...currently on Ebay. She's a treat! I discovered this show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" on the FX station...I'm not usually into comedies but this show is pretty quirky. It's nice to see a show where you hardly recognize anyone and it's well written! TGIF! Do I have plans for the weekend, you ask? Well, no I don't. There are no movies that catch my fancy...now that I've seen the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel twice. It's been a pretty dull summer for movies this year...with those few exceptions. Why do some parts of your body bleed more than others? Why is it, when you get a scratch on your arm it barely bleeds opposed to somewhere else? Like your knee for example? I discovered this today with the assistance of my cat, Peanut and her back claws. Today's rant: The USPS. I purchased an item from someone on the net. They mailed the item priority on the 1st of July....I didn't receive it until the 19th! WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!? Even though it had delivery confirmation...this can not be used as tracking. In fact the USPS doesn't offer tracking for any package unless it is shipped express mail. This is pretty sad in today's world when everything is scanned and bar coded and the technology is available.
Rock my world!
A quite Sunday afternoon, before the next door neighbor's kids wake up and create havoc. It will be a hot one today...the cats are already konked out. Finishing up some new commissions for dolls and in between, having a little play time with my own! I purchased this really cool Fender Replica Bass and it just so happens to fit my tall boy Saint...who also received his new rocker duds so I HAD to share him today. Made a trip to Denny's this morning for breakfast with a friend...yummy! Oh, and I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest last weekend! Woohooo!!!! Got my Depp fix. I've been waiting SOoooo long for that one to come out. Discovered a new band; Fair. Catchy pop tunes. I can't stop listening to it! Also bought the latest Cheap Trick and aside from the first track, I'm liking it a lot! Just like the days of old. And Deadwood is back in HBO. Life is good. Today's rant: I know Nicolas Cage has been wanting to do a comic book character for some time...he made a bundle off his contract for NOT doing Superman....thank goodness. So now he's playing "Ghost Rider". I like Nicolas Cage but I think he's getting a bit too old to be taking on these roles now. I saw a preview on Yahoo and he looks really awkward with that black hair...like he's an old guy trying to look young. But wait...he is an old guy trying to look young! Who knows, maybe it will work...they do amazing things with effects and make-up these days. Ciao!
Comedy and Tragedy
So what do you want first, the good news or the bad news? The good news, since you asked, is that the doll business is rolling right along. New commissions coming in, more dolls going out. (Yes, and more dolls coming in....I admit it). I decided to take a week off for the 4th of July holiday. My first day off was the 30th of June...wanna know what happened? I got SICK!!! You're thinkning, "Murphy's Law"...sure, I thought that too. WHATEVER! I mean, give me a friggin break here! When was the last time I had a week off? When my father passed away last December. So here I am popping sinus meds, Zicam, Dayquil...whatever my grubby little hands can find. At night, it's nyquil and tylenol PM...really wanted to knock myself out. Last night, it didn't work...ARGHHHHH!!! All I did was hack away all night. How am I supposed to get anything done like this? I had plans, dang it! Was suppose to see Superman today...the worst thing about being sick is the lack of energy. I literally watched 4 movies yesterday...I NEVER watch that much TV in a single viewing. This whole illness thing had better subside soon.On a better note, I received my gorgeous Bishonen House Punk Boy! He's 30" tall and totally divine! He's in the photo you see in this post (with my Dollmore Model Ipsae "Bianca"). Awesome dude. Can't wait to take him to the cemetery (when I feel better) for a photo op.Today's rant: See above!Later!
